Privacy Policy — Subtractly

The short version

• Your subscription list never leaves your phone. Everything is stored only on your device.
• No account. No sign-up. No advertising ID. No analytics SDK.
• No bank connections. We never ask for access to any financial institution, and we never ask for bank credentials of any kind.
• Statement photos are processed, not stored. When you scan a statement page, the downscaled photo is sent to our processing endpoint, the result comes back, and the image is discarded — nothing is saved, logged or shared.

What the app stores, and where

Every subscription you create — names, amounts, currencies, charge dates, cancellation records, settings — is written to a single private file in your device's app storage. It is not synced anywhere, because there is no server to sync it to. Deleting the app deletes the data; "Delete all data" in Settings does the same from inside.

What leaves the device, and when

Exactly one thing: a downscaled copy of a statement photo (longest edge ≤1024 px, JPEG), and only when you choose to scan one. It is sent over HTTPS to our processing endpoint (a Cloudflare Pages Function at subtractly-api.pages.dev), forwarded to an AI model for reading, and the recognised charges come back. The photo is held in memory for the duration of that single request and then discarded — it is not written to disk, not logged, and not used to train anything.

The AI provider processes the photo solely to return the reading. We do not send your name, contacts, location, or any account identifier with it — because we do not have any of those things.

What we do not do

• We do not collect, sell or share personal data — we hold none.
• We do not show advertising or track you across apps.
• We do not connect to your bank, or any financial service, or read your transactions automatically.
• We do not cancel subscriptions on your behalf — we give you the steps and the link, and the action is always yours.
• We do not use cookies on this site.

Notifications

Renewal and trial reminders are generated on your device and delivered by Android. Their content never passes through our servers.

Payments

Subtractly Pro is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment; we never see your payment instrument. Google's handling of purchase data is covered by Google's own privacy policy.

Your rights

Because your data lives on your device, you hold it completely: export it to CSV from Settings, or delete everything with one tap. If you contact us about anything in this policy, we will answer — but we will never ask you to send us your subscription list.
